I got a degree in Economics from the University of A Coruña, and both an MSc in European Studies and a PhD in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
In 2002 I got a grant from the European Commission to start a Jean Monnet module on The Government of the European Union at the University of A Coruña.
Between 2008 and 2012 I was an adjunct professor (profesor asociado) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, where I taught in the graduate programmes in Banking and Finance and Public Management and Policy.
In 2013-14 I was appointed adjunct professor by the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, where I teach in the master's degree in International Development Studies, and by the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi.
I am also the executive editor of the European Journal of Government and Economics.
